I saw everyone doing HCD (the event once a year where everyone draws hourly diary comics, created by Simone Veil of pictures for sad children fame) and decided to join in a day later.

I was initially planning to scan these to post here more neatly, but the coloured pencil I used doesn't like to work with the library scanners, and I just don't think it's in the spirit of hourly comics day to give myself that image editing hedache.

two lines of a comic. line one labeled '8:30, predictably' features a drawing of me wrapped to the nose in blankets in a dark room, a little light coning from the window, with the text hourly comic for 10. I am drawn in a dressing gown, from behind, putting a food thermometer into a kettle, a little speech bubble from the panel shows it displays 87.6 degrees C. text: 'experimentally admitting modern technology into my vibes-based tea-brewing practice. a sketch of the mug of tea is below, labeled green tea with osmanthus petals hourly comic for 11: title 'pausing work for the yesterday's spelling bee ritual', a drawing of Marlon and me in silhouette bent over our devices and comparing lists for the spelling bee game. hourly comic for 12: a drawing of a small kiosk between two trees, with text: 'taking in the sun + buying some sodas'. below, a closeup of a pedestrian traffic light on green and two feet in sneakers. the text, starting on the left reads 'sometimes as I'm crossing the street I still think about my runway walk' then it snakes across the walking feet: 'start with the left foot, float above the beat' hourly comic for 1 and 2pm (labeled 13 and 14), a drawing of a tablet stood upright next to a bottle and a bunch of sketchily indicated mess. text: 'Blades in the Dark character creation plus complaining about things with friends time' and next to the tablet: 'doing this on a tablet is not going to be sustainable...' 3pm: drawing of me sitting behind the tablet saying 'I just noticed it's almost 4 + I haven't drawn a comic OR eaten any lunch' 4pm: hastily drawn pot from which the smoky letters LUNCH emerge. next to it the text 'gotta finish this prep work!' hourly comic for 5pm shows me curled up on the couch with my tablet. the text over the top reads 'repeatedly sidetracked by cool 90's zines on the internet archive', with hearts around internet archive. text coming from my head says 'want to be making zines rn' below, the 6pm panel shows my eyes horribly melting out of my similarly melty face, with the text 'cannot stand this screen anymore' next to it, for 7pm, a bowl of food with the words 'flatmate cooked curry' and 'I am human again' hourly comic for 8pm: drawing of me from behind, at the piano. text in the window behind the piano reads 'piano practice' and below me on the bench: 'I am human again.' hourly for 9pm: drawing of me and Marlon sitting next to each other, in the glow of the TV in front of us. Marlon is holding a game controller. the caption reads 'gamer girlies'
